The Göteborg Opera Orchestra is seeking an Associate Principal Clarinet, as a temporary position, with duties  to play auxiliary instruments*. This position is a fixed-term contract for the 2026/2027 season, commencing 25 August 2026 or by agreement.

* Duty to play Eb, C and D clarinets as well as basset horn. In addition, obligation to play bass clarinet in single-wind musicals or other works with reduced orchestration that include bass clarinet parts of a simpler character.

Audition 20–21 May 2026

Compulsory pieces:

  • Mozart – Clarinet Concerto, 1st movement without cadenza and 2nd movement with cadenza
  • Debussy – Première Rhapsodie
  • Orchestral excerpts and ensemble test Download as a pdf

Gothenburg Opera will provide a pianist for the audition.

Please submit your application no later than 1 May 2026.

In the event of a large number of applicants, an initial selection may be made based on previous experience and qualifications.
