Hannes Öberg

Baritone

Hannes Öberg, baritone, born 1991, belongs to the Gothenburg Opera's soloist ensemble in the 2022/2023 season. Hannes Öberg has studied chamber music at the Vadstena singing and piano academy for singing teachers Anders Düring and Monica Thomasson. He have bachelor's and master's degrees from Academy of Opera in Stockholm, teacher was tenor Erik Årman.

At the Gothenburg Opera Hannes Öberg has performed Marullo in Rigoletto, Figaro in The Barber of Seville, the Boatswain in Herr Arnes penningar, Shaunard in La bohème and the Barber in Die Schweigsame frau.

Hannes Öberg made his debut in 2014 as Don Juan in the worldpremiere of Brommare's opera Min bror är Don Juan (My brother is Don Juan) at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. Subsequently, he has sung Valentin in Gounod's Faust, Ruthven in Marschner's Der Vampyr, Papageno in The Magic Flute and the Count in The Marriage of Figaro on Swedish and international stages. In spring 2019 and autumn 2020, Hannes Öberg was part of the permanent soloist ensemble at Theater Kiel in Germany. Hannes Öberg has also sung a large number of romance and lieder concerts as well as several oratorios such as Handel's Messiah, Brahms’ and Fauré's Requiem, Förklädd Gud and Bach's St. John's Passion.
