Mezzo-soprano Katarina Giotas graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm in 2000 but had already made her debut in 1998 as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro at Confidencen in Stockholm, a role she has since performed with great success at other venues such as the Folk Opera and the Göteborg Opera.

At the Göteborg Opera, Katarina Giotas has sung the roles of Suzuki in Madame Butterfly, Fyodor in Boris Godunov and Amschel in K. Description of a Struggle, the dual roles of the Duchess of Osuna and Leocadia in Daniel Börtz’s opera Goya, the Third Lady in The Magic Flute, Judith in Duke Bluebeard's Castle, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Háta in The Bartered Bride, The housekeeper in Die schweigsame Frau, Second norn i Götterdämmerung and The hostess/Mother i Herr Arnes penningar

Other notable roles include Suzuki in Madame Butterfly at Teatro di San Carlo in Napels, Don Ramiro in La finta giardiniera at the Royal Swedish Opera/Vasateatern, Lucilla in La Scala di Seta at the Malmö Opera, Carmen at Parkteatern in Stockholm, The Cunning Little Vixen as an animated film with the European Opera Centre, Fenena i Nabucco at the Wermland Opera, Lazuli in Chabrier's L’Étoile at Läckö Castle Opera, L’Opinion Publique/Cupidon in Orphée aux enfers and Phèdre in Hippolyte et Aricie at Folkoperan, the Third Lady in The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte) at the Royal Swedish Opera and Fadela in Daniel Börtz’s opera Svall.
