Samuel Harjanne

Director

Samuel Harjanne is an international musical theatre director. Originally from Finland, he is currently living in Copenhagen, and has been working internationally in Northern Europe and the United Kingdom. During the past couple of years, Harjanne has become one of the most popular musical theatre directors in Finland.

During 2022 he has directed Anastasia at Tampere Theatre, Come From Away at TTT-Theatre of Tampere, Priscilla - Queen of the Desert at Helsinki City Theatre and The Bridges of Madison County at Turku City Theatre. The previous years he has directed Spring Awakening at Balettakademin, Sister Act at Teater Vanemuine, Kinky Boots at TTT-Theatre of Tampere,  Groundhog Day at Helsinki City Theatre, The Secret Garden at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Disney’s The Little Mermaid at Helsinki City Theatre, Fiddler on the Roof at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, 9 TO 5 at GSA, Billy Elliot at TTT-Theatre of Tampere, Kinky Boots at Helsinki City Theatre, Spring Awakening at Edinburgh Fringe, Les Misérables at Teater Vanemuine, Spring Awakening at TTT-Theatre of Tampere, I Love You, Youre Perfect, Now Change! at Suomen Komediateatteri.

Samuel Harjanne studied MA Musical Theatre Directing  at Guildford School of Acting, UK and BA Music Education at Sibelius Academy, Finland. Teaching credits include master classes and productions at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, UK, University of the Arts Helsinki, Guildford School of Acting, UK and University of Tampere.  Samuel is the founder of Harjanne Company Ltd - a company that specializes in creative services for theatre.
