Our organisation
The Göteborg Opera is a wholly-owned company within the Västra Götaland Region, and has 500 full-time employees in 90 different professions. We present around 350 performances per year, for around a quarter of a million visitors. Our vision is to be one of the leading opera houses in Northern Europe.

Accounts
The accounts department includes finances, payroll, procurement and archiving.

Costume and make-up
The costume department and wardrobe take care of everything to do with costumes, from the hat down to the shoes. The make-up department takes care of everything from silicone noses, full masks, teeth, fake tattoos, wigs, beards, moustaches and much more.

Facility Management
The facility management group’s goal is the supply the organisation as a whole with the conditions needed to provide the best possible experience to our guests.

Human resources
Our role to develop and improve staffing and human resources in collaboration with management.

Inspicients
An inspicient is like a technical director – they make sure that all set elements, platform movements, lighting cues and performers are in the right place at the right time.

IS/IT
The IS/IT department provides modern administrative support for all employees and a rational infrastructure with the architecture and information model which assists in allowing the Göteborg Opera to be a leading opera house.

Project management
We manage stage productions and tours.

Regional operations
Thomas Johansson is technical manager for our regional operations, and is the contact person and coordinator for technical resources needed for the Göteborg Opera’s regional, touring productions.

Restaurant
We prepare and serve food and beverages for both our guests and our staff.

Sales, sponsorship and communication
We are the link between you the public and everything that goes on here at the Opera – taking care of you before, during and after your visit.

Stage, lighting, video, sound and wardrobe
These departments consist of professional technicians who are responsible for all stage tech.

Workshops and construction
Around 30 people work in our workshops – with construction, metalwork, carpentry, set painting, fabrics and props.
