Annika Lindqvist joined the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm at the age of 10. After completing her secondary school studies at the same school, she received a scholarship to continue her studies at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. During her active years as a professional dancer, Annika Lindqvist came to dance all the great classical ballets but also works by Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, William Forsythe and Jo Strømgren. Annika Lindqvist has worked as a professional dancer at the Royal Swedish Opera, the National Ballet in Oslo and the Vienna State Opera. For ten years, Annika also worked as a professional dancer at the Göteborg Opera. 

Today, Annika Lindqvist works as an Assistant Director at the Göteborg Opera with productions such as Notorious, Norma, Billy Budd, Hair and Return to the Forbidden Planet in addition to which, she has directed rerun productions such as Madame Butterfly and The Telephone. As a Movement Instructor, Annika has been involved in productions such as Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried, Götterdämmerung and Così fan tutte.  

At the National Ballet in Oslo, Annika directed the ballet Utkanten by Jo Strømgren and she also worked as Assistant Director on the show Elvis, Cash, The Killer and Me when directed by Rikard Bergqvist at the Göta Lejon Theatre in Stockholm.
