Jonathan Brandani

Conductor

The young Italian conductor Jonathan Brandini has appeared in concert at the Théatre Royal de Wallonie-Liège (Belgium), with the Wiener Symphoniker at the Bregenzer Festspiele (Austria), with the Orchestra Filarmonica Toscanini (Parma) and the Orchestra del Teatro Lirico (Cagliari). From 2014 to 2019 he has been Associate Conductor of Minnesota Opera (USA), and from 2017 to 2020 he has been Principal Guest Conductor of Daegu Opera House (South Korea). In recent seasons he has conducted at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein a Düsseldorf (Germany), at the Palau de les Arts di Valencia (Spain), at the Daegu Opera House (South Korea), Minnesota Opera (USA), Calgary Opera (Canada), Donizetti Festival (Bergamo) and Teatro Nuovo (New York). Upcoming engagements will see him conduct at the Bregenzer Festspiele (Austria), Sidney Opera House (Australia), Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno (Italy), Calgary Opera (Canada).

After his degree in Piano, Jonathan graduated in Conducting with full marks and honor at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna; he also earned a Master of Arts in Orchestra Conducting from Yale University. He is Artistic Director of Calgary Opera (Canada).
