About the orchestra

The Göteborg Opera’s vision is to be one of the leading opera houses in Northern Europe. We are a modern and innovative opera house that distinguishes itself with professionalism and commitment to the arts. We have a broad repertoire of opera, dance and musical theatre and are an important player in the
development of the region. GöteborgsOperan AB is a community-owned company employing around 500 people per year. In total around 300 shows are staged every year for around 250,000 visitors on the Main Stage, the Small Stage and throughout the region. We have a turnover of around 380 million SEK of which around 30% is from our own resources. The Göteborg Opera is a diverse workplace with roughly the same number of male and female employees. The orchestra has 86 members.

About the position

The Göteborg Opera is receiving applications for Timpani, co-principal with duty to play percussion
This is a full-time emplyment starting in January 2023 or according to agreement.

Audition

Digital audition with video should be submitted no later than 1 September 2022.

A first selection will be made based on the delivered material and a number of applicants will be invited to audition in Gothenburg 17–18 October 2022. Notice of which candidates have been selected will be given no later than 19 September 2022. Applicants invited to audition will have the opportunity to try out Gothenburg Opera’s instruments on Sunday 16 October.
