Curt Allen Wilmer

Set designer

Curt Allen Wilmer was born in Madrid in 1963. In Germany he graduated in Scenography and costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. From 1987 to 1993 he worked as a freelance scenographer and costume designer in the German performing arts and cinema. Back in Spain, he worked as set designer and technical director of the Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid from 1994 to 1998. During this period he collaborated with directors such as José Luis Gómez, Gerardo Vera, Andrés Lima, Ernesto Caballero, among others. From 1998 to 2008, he was the Artistic Director of the Department of Theming and Shows of Acciona Producciones y Diseño (APD) in Seville, developing worldwide projects for museums, fair stands, multimedia shows, theme parks, expo pavilions and large events.

Leticia was born in Seville in 1974 and graduated as an architect from the University of Seville in 2000. Between 2001 and 2006 she focused her professional activity as a freelance architect, collaborating or signing public and private development projects. In 2006 she decided to take a turn in her career and joined the Projects Department of General de Producciones y Diseño (GPD), collaborating in the design and coordination of worldwide projects of museums, fair stands, multimedia shows, Expo pavilions and events.

In 2008 Curt and Leticia formed Estudiodedos. Actually dedicated mainly to the performing arts, they have also developed other multidisciplinary scenographic projects such as events or trade fair stands. From 2012 to 2020, they direct the Master's Degree in Scenography and Exhibition Spaces at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid.

In theatre, they have designed sets for outstanding Spanish directors such as Alfonso Zurro, Juan Carlos Rubio, Magüi Mira, Juan Mayorga, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Ernesto Caballero.

In dance they have worked with international choreographers. With Johan Inger for productions in CND Madrid, Aterballetto Italy, Dresden Semperoper Ballet, Ballets de Montecarlo. With Goyo Montero, in Nürnberg Ballet, Montecarlo Ballets, Hannover Ballet, Sao Paulo Dance company. In Spain, with Eva Yerbabuena, Victor Ullate, Chevi Muraday. In 2014 Curt participates in the foundation of the Asociación de artistas plásticos escénicos de España (aapee), being since then a member of its board of directors.

The studio have been recognised with more than twenty awards, including: 2 MAX awards, 4 ADE awards, and 10 Lorca awards.
