French company Wang Ramirez – choreographer duo Honji Wang and Sébastien Ramirez – often combine styles such as hip hop and body popping with martial arts, contemporary dance and acrobatics.
In Au Revoir, the dancers move between three worlds: one dark, one human and one spiritual. The creation encompasses fighting spirit and astonishing illusions. The flowing choreography, which includes abundant flights across the stage, is in stark contrast to the raw music:
”We hope that audiences will enjoy relaxing away from everyday life for a while and that we can make them dream and reflect. The title alludes to both hope and sorrow. Saying goodbye means acknowledging the uncertainty of whether you will meet again or if you have reached an ending.”
