Bente Rolandsdotter is working internationally as set and costume designer in opera, dance and theater. She has a bachelor's degree in scenography and costume from the Dramatic Institute (now Stockholm Dramatic University) as well as education in archeology and the cutting of fabric.

Previous productions include the musical Kärlek skonar ingen (Love does not spare anyone) at the Gothenburg Opera, Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria at Theater Basel and Florencia En El Amazonas at Konzerttheater St Gallen, both with director Krystian Lada. In Sweden she has also worked with Min bror är Don Juan (My brother is Don Juan), Orfeus & Euridice and Klaus Nomi at the Royal Swedish Opera, Snödrottningen (The Snow Queen) and Orfeo & Euridice at the Norrland Opera, Turandot for Dalhalla Opera Festival, Jeanne d'Arc at Backa Theater and the newly written work Zebran with director Deda Cristina Colonna for the Vadstena Academy. In a multi-year work with choreographer Örjan Andersson, she created the costumes for GOLDBERG VARIATIONS-ternary patterns for insomnia and PRELUDE -skydiving from a dream, works that have been shown at the Barbican in London, Kennedy Center Washington, Tramway Glasgow, Shanghai Concert Hall, Armel Opera Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and The Savannah Festival. As co-founder and artistic director of Den Andra Operan (The Other Opera), Bente also works with producing operas by female composers in innovative productions.
