Over the past 30 years Nick Davies has been regarded as one of the most versatile and much sought after conductors across the full spectrum of orchestral and theatrical genres. Since January 2011 Nick Davies has held the post of Chief Conductor for Vantaa Pops Orchestra in Finland. Nick is a regular guest conductor with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and has worked with them on various tours, memorable concerts and a number of award-winning recordings. Together with the orchestra he also had the honour to conduct the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo annually from 2007 to 2017. He has also worked as a guest conductor with numerous European orchestras. Work further afield includes the Orchestra of the Central Opera Company of Beijing, Hong Kong Philharmonic and Hong Kong Sinfonietta. In 2009 he made his Australian debut conducting the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and has since returned to conduct the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Symphony and Western Australia Symphony in Perth. He was the Musical Director for New York City Opera’s production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which was performed in Japan, and gave the world premiere of Garbo - The Musical at Oscars Theatre in Stockholm. He supervised and opened Miss Saigon, Evita, Three-penny Opera, Beauty and the Beast and The Producers during his tenure as Head of Music at Helsinki City Theatre. He has also collaborated on a number of productions at Finnish National Opera and Ballet.
For Gothenburg Opera he conducted The Barber of Seville 2018, numerous concerts and galas, he was music director for productions of Guys & Dolls, West Side Story, La Cage aux Folles and The Phantom of the Opera.
