Who is the oppressor, who has a responsibility to protest and what are the consequences of our choices? Recreate: Svenne is about extreme ideologies, political game-playing and civil courage.

Svenne is a new musical based on Per Nilsson’s August Prize-winning novel of the same name. This sparkling show examines extreme ideologies, political game-playing and civil courage through dance, theatre and club music. Who is the oppressor, who has a responsibility to protest and what are the consequences of our choices?

Svenne is part of our Recreate initiative, in which young people work together to create a new work based on themes from a pre-existing work. This time there are links to Nabucco, which will be performed on the Main Stage during the 2022/2023 season. Svenne will involve around 35 people of different ages and with different experiences.
