Two dance pieces in one evening! GöteborgsOperans Danskompani’s season opening with a revival of the vibrant, energy-packed and internationally acclaimed Contemporary Dance.
Hofesh Shechter is one of the world’s most celebrated choreographers – both impossible to predict and with an unmistakeable style: physically explosive, tender and vibrant.
Come early to experience The Bus Will Arrive in 10 Minutes, which starts at the bus stop outside our main entrance about 1 hour before Contemporary Dance begins, and then continues in the foyer after 30 minutes. The whole piece lasts about an hour. Choose your point of view and change it when you want, as unexpected narratives and interactions are improvised by the dancers in real-time.
The bus will arrive in 10 minutes runs for approx. one hour. The piece Contemporary Dance is 47 minutes.
A glass of sparkling wine/non-alcoholic option is included in your ticket and will be served before Contemporary Dance. The Summer Veranda, our outdoor café with the best harbourside loation in town, is open until 21.00. You’re more than welcome to stay and hang out after the show and mingle with some of the dancers.
Shechter’s first work for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Contemporary Dance, which premiered in 2019, fills the stage with an intense club atmosphere and ironic winks to popular culture. The perfect upload for the dance company's double world premiere in fall: In a Heartbeat with a new creation by Hofesh Shechter. The piece Contemporary Dance runs for 47 minutes.

The evening begins with The Bus Will Arrive in 10 Minutes, a dance experience which will start off outside the main entrance and move through the foyer. Choose your point of view and change it when you want, as unexpected narratives and interactions are improvised by the dancers in real-time. The choreographer behind the concept is Tali Zavilevich, who is making her Swedish debut.
