About the Göteborg Opera
The Göteborg Opera is a modern cultural institution for opera, dance, musicals and orchestral music, and has touched the lives of more than seven million visitors since its inauguration in 1994. The company’s vision is to be one of northern Europe’s leading opera houses. Our activities are characterised by professionalism, dedication and innovation. GöteborgsOperan AB is a wholly owned company within the Västra Götaland Region and plays an important role in the region’s development. The Göteborg Opera is an inclusive, multicultural workplace that strives for balanced gender representation.
The Göteborg Opera Chorus consists of 42 professional singers and is one of Sweden’s three professional opera choruses. They perform in most opera productions as well as concerts, small ensambles, and even musicals. Members of the chorus are regularly used for small solo parts and are given the opportunity to cover lead roles occasionally. We consider drama and movement to be important elements of the chorus’ work.
