Joachim Bäckström’s voice combines lyrical beauty with dramatic power, with a particular facility for roles where intensity and psychological depth take centre stage.
At the Göteborg Opera, Joachim has impressed and moved audiences in roles such as Peter Grimes, Hoffmann, Don José in Carmen, and Francis in Mytomania. In summer 2026, he will sing Strauss and Wagner at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, then following the Grandi Voci concert he will take on the role of The Prince in a production of Rusalka being staged in Malmö.
