When the new season begins in autumn of 2026, it will be with a completely new stage tech system. This renovation means that we will again be one of the most modern opera houses in Europe. It will allow us to carry on offering our audiences performing arts at the highest international level – a level that earned us a nomination for Opera House of the Year in the prestigious Opera Awards competition last season.
This is important so that you all have a wonderful experience when you visit us. It is of fundamental importance that we are able to keep culture and performing arts viable. We all need space and nourishment to grow and develop, both as a society and as individuals. Culture is an essential part of that nourishment.
It is a stormy period – but in the eye of a storm, there is almost no wind. That’s how I like view our what we offer: safe spaces that allow for both reflection and emotion, where the only storm is the one depicted on stage. A place where you can meet aspects of yourself – where you see yourself reflected in the fate of the characters on stage.
