The children’s opera Gold! is a magical, funny and thoughtful production about what it really means to be ‘rich’.

Gold! is a lively musical fairy-tale about a poor boy who catches a magical golden fish. The fish promises to grant his every wish if the boy just lets him go. The boy delays as his parents begin making ever-more extravant wishes. With each new wish, the fish grows weaker and the waves keep on rising …

How far will we go to get what we think will make us happy? Where is the line between what we need and what we want? Gold! tells a story of getting everything and still not being satisfied – and what being “rich” really means.
