Gabriel Pitoni

Choreographer

The German-Italian choreographer Gabriel Pitoni moved to Berlin after completing his dance training and various advanced courses in Rome and Milan. Alongside his work as a dancer and choreographer, he studied Art Direction at the Berlin University of the Arts. His work combines diverse choreographic approaches with a wide range of musical styles.

He has worked with artists such as Helene Fischer, Sarah Connor, Andrea Berg, Roland Kaiser, and The Weather Girls, and has been commissioned by renowned brands including Philips, Birkenstock, Timberland, Deutsche Bahn, Guido Maria Kretschmer, and Germany's Next Topmodel. As a co-choreographer, he has contributed to major Saturday night television shows in Germany, as well as productions with international artists such as Robbie Williams and David Hasselhoff.

Most recently, he created the opening number for the German final of the Eurovision Song Contest, featuring Barbara Schöneberger. In recent years, he has choreographed the cult musical The Rocky Horror Show, Gottfried von Einem’s opera Der Prozess at Landesbühnen Sachsen, and Lorin Maazel’s operatic rarity 1984 at Theater Regensburg. There, he also choreographed the world premiere of Joseph Beer’s operetta Der Prinz von Schiras, which received the BR Operetta Frog award, and directed the gala I Am What I Am.

Most recently, he choreographed the operetta Du bist ich at Staatsoperette Dresden, the full-length dance production Next to Me in Regensburg, as well as the German premieres of the musicals Come From Away and Merrily We Roll Along.
