Jiří Rožeň’s international presence continued to grow rapidly throughout the 2022/23 season as he makes debuts with leading orchestras and continues to develop his reputation as one of the foremost interpreters of Czech repertoire. Highlights this season have included important debuts with orchestras in North America including Seattle Symphony, Utah Symphony, and Naples Philharmonic. Elsewhere, he made his Swedish opera debut for a new production of Smetana’s The Bartered Bride for the Göteborg Opera and makes symphonic debuts in Europe with Bochum Symphoniker, Flanders Symphony and Orchestre National de Metz. He returns to the Slovak Sinfonietta and Czech Chamber Philharmonic and revives Flammen for the closing concert of Janáček Brno Festival.

 Highlights in the coming season include his Norwegian opera debut for a new production of Janáček’s Káťa Kabanová with Bergen Opera and in celebration of 200 years since Smetana’s birth he returns to Goteborg Opera for an all Smetana Gala concert. In spring 2024 he returns to Prague State Opera to conduct Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre.
