Guy Weizman & Roni Haver

Choreographers

Guy Weizman and Roni Haver are both Israeli choreographers living and working in the Netherlands. For GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, they have previously created “Mama, I’m coming home” (2012). They started their career in the Bat Sheva Ensemble in Tel Aviv and danced with several companies through Europe; Ultima Vez (Wim Vandekeybus), Lanonima Imperial (Juan Carlos Garcia), and Galili Dance (Itzik Galili). In 2002 they started their own dance company. They are often invited to cooperate with other groups (State Theatre Oldenburg, State Theatre Mainz, Tsekh Contemporary Dance Centre, Schauspiel Kölln, Carte Blanche, Noord Nederlands Toneel as well as with GöteborgsOperans Danskompani).
Guy Weizman and Roni Haver have received several prestigious awards for best choreography that include the Swan for the performance ‘Midnight Rising’ in the Netherlands, as well as the Golden Mask for the performance ‘L’Histoire du Soldat’ in Russia. Since 2017, Guy Weizman has also taken up his position as the new artistic director of the Noord Nederlands Toneel. The companies work intensively together.

In 2002, they founded Club Guy & Roni. The Club creates and tours several productions, all produced in the Netherlands. Club Guy & Roni brings together dancers and other artists from around the world. The Club collaborates with artists from other disciplines such as music, film, theater, science and fashion.

The Club is a popular guest at international festivals in, among others – Madrid, Rome, Tallinn, Berlin, Marseille and Frankfurt. The Club also performed at the prestigious American Jacob's Pillow Festival, and the Grec Festival in Barcelona. Site specific performances are presented yearly in festivals such as the Oerol Festival on Terschelling island. The cast of dancers is award wining, and is characterized by high physical capability and strong stage personalities.
