Thomas Atkins

Thomas Atkins, tenor from New Zealand, is a graduate of the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and is fast becoming a much sought-after artist on the international scene, including the opera houses Bayerische Staatsoper, Opéra de Montpellier, Opera North, Glyndebourne, The Barbican (with London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra) and New Zealand Opera. In the 2021/22 season Thomas made his debuts at the Opéra National de Paris as Der Steuermann in Der fliegende Holländer and the Israeli Opera and Opera Holland Park as Lensky in Eugene Onegin. On the concert platform, he made his debut with The Hallé as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly under the baton of Sir Mark Elder. Other recent engagement include Rodrigo in Otello at Bayerische Staatsoper, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and Kudrjaš in Katya Kabanova at the Glyndebourne Festival and Lysander A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Opéra de Montpellier.
