Julia Carlström studied at the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg. At the Göteborg Opera she has performed the role of Veruca Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and has participated in the musicals Wicked, Cabaret, Kärlek skonar ingen and in the family performance Julglitter och operakaos where she played one of the Sorgmod sisters.
She has also covered the role of Nancy in Måndag hela veckan at Wermland Opera and sung the role of Florence Vassy for Chess in Concert in Vänersborg.
In 2024 she did the Swedish voice for the lead role Ellian in the animated Netflix film Ellian and the Spell.
