The energy of movement, the power of physical expression, a tender intimacy, and striking visual effects—these are just some of the elements that unite the two new dance works featured in the double-bill In-action.

What also connects them is a shared longing for radical change to the way we live. The time to act is now—with strength, creativity, and confidence in our ability to shape the future.

In autumn 2025, two choreographic duos will each create a new work for the virtuosic dancers of GöteborgsOperans Danskompani.

Cross

Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo

Please note that Cross includes sequences with strobe lighting.

Cross is by the acclaimed Spain-based duo Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo, known for their visionary creations with their company Kor’sia.

Cross takes place during a night where everything finally changes. From darkness to light, from consumerism to the peace of nature, from dystopia to utopia.

“We live in an increasingly complex world, where invisible threads of economy, society, politics and culture weave a reality that often slips from our hands. … Our ability to imagine what does not yet exist, the power to create the incredible, is the spark that ignites the will to act.”

Agnès López-Río, dramaturge for Cross

Antonio de Rosa, born in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, trained in classical and contemporary dance at the Ballet School of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He performed with Maggio Fiorentino, Arena di Verona, and Teatro alla Scalabefore joining Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spain), where he was a member from 2011 to 2017.

Mattia Russo, born in Atripalda, Italy, also trained at the Ballet School of Teatro alla Scala. His career began at the Centro Choreográfico de la Generalitat Valenciana (Spain) before moving to Introdans (Netherlands) and later joining Compañía Nacional de Danza in 2012.

Together with Giuseppe Dagostino in collaboration with Agnès López-Río, they have founded the dance company KOR’SIA. The company sees movement as a powerful medium for expressing and synthesizing human experience. Their work explores traditions, culture, and social constructs, transforming them into a choreographic language that transcends time and invites audiences to connect with their most intimate and spiritual dimensions.
