Merit Vessies (born 1993) works across writing, theatre and sound. In her artistic practice, she explores different ways of storytelling, allowing the content of each story to shape its form.
In 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from ArtEZ University of the Arts, presenting the work De verleiding om af te dalen. She went on to study Contemporary Theatre, Dance & Dramaturgy at Utrecht University, where she completed her master's degree in 2021.
Vessies works as a writer, dramaturg, assistant director, director, voice actor and audio creator, collaborating with companies including NITE and Scapino Ballet.
