Olivia Ancona

Rehearsal director

Olivia Ancona is originally from Portland, Oregon. After training at The Juilliard School, she joined Batsheva Ensemble and later Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, under the direction of Ohad Naharin. She was a founding member of Sharon Eyal’s company L-E-V and, since 2018, has staged Eyal’s work on companies throughout Europe.

As a performer, Olivia has worked with Mats Ek, Wim Vandekeybus, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Sasha Waltz, Roy Assaf, Johan Inger, Oona Doherty, Alexandra Waierstall and Adam Linder, among others. She has also been a guest dancer with the Royal Swedish Ballet, Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, GöteborgsOperan Danskompani and Staatsballett Berlin.

Olivia was a performer and creative assistant with Alan Lucien Øyen’s company Winter Guests. Alongside her performing practice, rehearsal direction and staging work, she has taught Gaga, improvisation and creative workshops internationally since 2010. Since 2024, she has also been offering structured individual and group coaching, with a particular passion for mentorship.
