Sami Yousri trained at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg. Sami has sung roles such as Sarastro in The Magic Flute with the Jönköping Sinfonietta, Baron Douphol in La Traviata at Folkoperan, Clemens VI in Carl Unander-Scharin’s Byrgitta at Vadstena-Akademien and Salvius in Daniel Börtz’s opera Magnus Gabriel at Läckö Castle Opera. At The Göteborg Opera, Sami Yousri has played Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte, Zuniga in Carmen, Father Dupin and Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mother in Weill and Brecht’s The Seven Deadly Sins, Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Pascha Selim in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Dr Grind in The Insomnia Clinic and the Nightwatchman in The Master-Singers of Nuremberg
