Simen Gloppen

Choreographer

Simen Gloppen is educated in acting, singing and dancing at Nord Dramatic Arts (HiNT) and Bårdar Akademiet in Oslo.

Simen has choreographed several productions including Sister Act (Chateau Neuf, Norway), Eurovision Song Contest - "Give that wolf a banana» for NRK, (Turin, Italy) which he also was nominated for Best Choreography in Eurovision Awards 2022, Fiddler on the roof (Lørenskog Hus, Norway), Tell me on a Sunday (Chateau Neuf, Norway), Kristina från Duvemåla (co-choreography, Moster Amfi, Norway), Optimist (Chateau Neuf, Norway) and God Jul og Fagott Nytt År (Oslo Spektrum, Norway).

He has worked as an assistant director alongside directors such as Mattias Carlsson and Tore Myklebust in Moulin Rouge! The Musical (Chateau Neuf, Norway), Sister Act (Chateau Neuf, Norway) and Jersey Boys (Chateau Neuf, Norway).

He directed a new version of the Queen musical We Will Rock You (Oslo Spektrum, Norway) in 2023.

His work as a dancer includes The Book of Mormon (China Teatern, Sweden and Det Norske Teatret, Norway), Fiddler on the roof (Lørenskog Hus, Norway), Eurovision Song Contest - "Give that wolf a banana" for NRK (Turin, Italy), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Det Norske Teatret, Norway), Evita (Moster Amfi, Norway), Grease (Chateau Neuf and Tour, Norway), West Side Story (Nöjesteatern, Sweden and Moster Amfi, Norway), A Chorus Line (Chat Noir, Norway), Monty Python’s Spamalot (Folketeatret, Norway), La Cage aux Folles (Den Nationale Scene, Norway), The Sound of Music (Edderkoppen Teater, Norway) and Feeling in the mood - the new Glenn Miller Musical (workshop in London, UK) with Broadway director/ choreographer Chet Walker.
