This spring’s double world premiere for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani involves two pop-culture phenomena, choreographers Yoann Bourgeois and Emma Portner. They’ve worked with artists such as Pink and Harry Styles, performed at unique venues such as the Louvre and the Guggenheim Museum, and are hired by the world's absolute leading brands. With each new work in the double-bill Vaults of Heaven, they unite around natural forces and flowing fighting spirit.
They’ve choreographed for major pop stars, brands and arenas. Now they each create a new dance piece in Gothenburg: a dance double-bill with high energy, acrobatics and small miracles.
We Loved Each Other So Much by Yoann Bourgeois
Choreographer and acrobat Yoann Bourgeois is fascinated by the games of vertigo, which reflect the civilizational upheaval of our world. He creates his captivating dance poetry in close interaction with space by exploring specific physical devices.
We loved each other so much will explore the vital incandescence that is the basis of our movement through a piece of rare virtuosity and intensity.
Bourgeois has previously been successful at the Göteborg Opera with his bold and poetic creations Hurricane, Fugue/Trampoline and Our Music.
