Christoffer Nobin is one of the most sought-after conductors of his generation in Scandinavia. He works regularly with the major symphony orchestras and opera houses in Sweden and Denmark, including the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Gothenburg Opera and the Royal Swedish Opera. He is known for his natural authority, energising presence and a clear and precise conducting technique.
Internationally, he has collaborated with institutions such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Metropolitan Opera, and has conducted concerts, tours and recordings across Europe, Japan and the United States.
In the 2026/2027 season, Nobin serves as Conductor in Residence at Gothenburg Opera, where he conducts productions including La Traviata, The Magic Flute, The Barber of Seville and Wicked. Other engagements during the season include concerts with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. In autumn 2026, he appears as a participant in the Swedish television programme Kulturfrågan Kontrapunkt on SVT.
Nobin began his career as a classical singer and composer, earning dual degrees from the Malmö Academy of Music, before studying orchestral conducting at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he graduated in 2012. During his studies, he was appointed Conductor in Residence with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and also worked as assistant conductor to Paavo Järvi and Louis Langrée. Since then, he has conducted more than 250 productions in Sweden and internationally.
Alongside his work as a conductor, Nobin is active as a composer and arranger. He has written several operas and musicals and is regarded as one of Sweden’s leading orchestral arrangers. His work includes large-scale symphonic productions as well as music for film and video games, including the orchestration and recording of the Candy Crush soundtrack at Abbey Road Studio One in London.
He collaborates regularly with several of Sweden’s leading artists, and has performed with, among others, Laleh, Daniel Adams-Ray and Veronica Maggio at venues such as Avicii Arena, Stockholm Concert Hall and the Swedish Radio Concert Hall (Berwaldhallen), as well as on radio and television.
Nobin has served as Music Director and Artistic Leader of the Nordic Wind Ensemble (2017–20) and as Head of Music at Norrlandsoperan (2018–19). He has also been Program Director at Musikaliska Kvarteret in Stockholm (2024–25).
