Daniel Roskamp studied scenography at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Erich Wonder. He gained experience as an assistant to Erich Wonder and Johannes Schütz, among others. Since 1994, he has worked as a freelance stage designer, and from 2006 to 2015, he served as head stage designer at the Staatstheater Kassel.
He has collaborated with directors such as Kay Voges, Laura Linnenbaum, Patrick Schlösser, Lily Sykes, F. P. Steckel, Gustav Rueb, Schirin Khodadadian, and Markus Dietz. His stage designs and installations span opera, drama, and dance theatre at venues including Schauspielhaus Bochum, Oper Dortmund, Ruhrtriennale, Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, Schauspiel Leipzig, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Theater Bremen, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Staatsoper Hannover, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Berliner Ensemble, Volkstheater, and the Burgtheater in Vienna.
Since 2016, he has collaborated with Phillip Rosendahl on productions such as West Side Story and Candide by Leonard Bernstein, Operetta by Witold Gombrowicz at Staatstheater Kassel, and Equus at Staatstheater Cottbus.
His recent work includes stage designs for Wellen by Elmar Lampson at Bremen Opera and Friskytten at GöteborgsOperan.
Productions featuring Roskamp’s designs have been invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen and the Mülheimer Theatertage. He has also received multiple nominations for "Stage Design of the Year."
