Emanuele Rosa

Choreographer

Emanuele Rosa is an Italian choreographer and dancer working across contemporary dance and opera. His work moves fluidly between independent creation, institutional contexts, and large-scale productions.

As a performer, he has collaborated with international institutions and companies including Landestheater Linz, Hessisches Staatsballett, Skånes Dansteater, CCNR / Yuval Pick, Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni, C&C Company, R14 / Julien Grosvalet, Arno Schuitemaker among others, contributing to a diverse background informing his authorial work.

As an independent choreographer and co-founder of EM+, his independent works have been presented at major festivals and venues across Europe, Asia, and South America. EM+ creations have received several recognitions, including the Premio Twain – DirezioniAltre (2022), selections for the Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore, and participation in European platforms such as Crossing the Sea and Big Pulse / Tanec Praha. His creations and collaborations include Ribelle (2018), Il Piccolo Principe (2019), and ALICE (2022) for Agora Coaching Project (IT), in collaboration with Carlo Massari; and Meat Me (2019) and As If, I Have Missed Myself (2020), co-produced with Bora Bora – Dans og visuelt teater (DK) together with Fabio Liberti.

In opera, Rosa signed the choreographies for Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci (Opéra de Toulon; Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie; Opéra de Dijon), La Bohème (Teatro Sociale di Como / Teatro Regio di Parma), and La Traviata (Angers Nantes Opéra, Opéra de Rennes, Grand Théâtre – Opéra de Tours, Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie, and Opéra de Nice). He received the Nuovo Autore Award at Foligno Danza Festival (2023) and was invited in 2025 as guest choreographer to the Accademia Nazionale di Danza (Rome) within the Resid’AND project.
