Matt Haskins

Lighting designer

Matt is London-based and works internationally. He designed the lighting for the Royal Opera House’s world premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Coraline; worked as associate lighting designer for The Master and Margarita (Complicité) and concert lighting designer for the iconic Grace Jones (Royal Albert Hall).

Opera work includes, Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Donizetti’s Don Pasquale (Irish National Opera); Puccini’s La Bohème (Opéra Orchestre National Montpelier), Verdi’s La traviata (Israeli Opera) and Macbeth (Grange Festival); Michael Zev Gordon’s Raising Icarus (Barber Opera); Verdi’s La traviata and Mozart’s Don Giovanni, (Opera North); Søren Nils Eichberg’s Glare and Matt Rogers’s The Virtues of Things (Royal Opera House); Bernstein’s A Quiet Place (Opera Zuid); Herrmann’s Wuthering Heights (Opéra national de Lorraine) and Ravi Shankar’s Sukanya (Royal Festival Hall), Britten’s Albert Herring (Royal Academy of Music).
