Sven Stratmann

Video designer

Sven Stratmann (AQUIET) is a German video artist based in Leipzig. He studied at the AKI ArtEZ Academie voor Art & Design in the Netherlands, specialising in media arts and film. As a freelance artist, he works across Europe in the fields of animation, installation and projection art, as well as camera and direction.

Since 2008, he has contributed to more than fifty productions in dance, music theatre and drama, collaborating with both independent ensembles and major institutions such as Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Oldenburg, Theater Münster, Theater Heidelberg, Polski Teatr Tańca and Landesbühnen Sachsen. His work also includes large-scale façade projections, video installations and audiovisual concert pieces.

Under the artist name AQUIET, Stratmann has designed and performed live visuals for over thirty audiovisual concerts and music festivals, collaborating with artists such as Hauschka, Grandbrothers, Martin Kohlstedt and Pantha du Prince. He is affiliated with the label Average Negativ and has curated various cross-disciplinary events, including the art and culture festival RESET, the audiovisual concert series AV-PICKNICK and the video art exhibition Times are us at Kunsthalle Münster.
