A pop-musical journey from 1994 up to today – with a song from each year and hundreds of singers on the Main Stage. Welcome to a concert experience brimming with energy!

The foremost Swedish songwriters of the international music scene are celebrated with a magnificent choir concert. Songs by Max Martin, Tove Lo, Avicii, Lisa Miskovsky, Nina Persson, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson – hits we’re used to hear performed by artists such as Backstreet Boys, Robyn, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Madonna and Coldplay. Huge arena songs where everyone gets to sing along, and majestic numbers featuring the choirs are interspersed with a few finely tuned duets. Superhits, well-known songs, and some unexpected musical pieces.

The choirs and the band on stage are led by Fredrik Berglund and Simon Ljungman – the same duo that had a sensational success at GöteborgsOperan in the spring of 2023 with hundreds of choir singers in A Tribute to Simon & Garfunkel.

In 2024, the Göteborg Opera celebrates 30 years since its inauguration. This concert is a part of the celebrations.

The concert is presented in collaboration between GöteborgsOperan and Fredrik Berglund and Simon Ljungman.

The concert on 10 May will consist of youth choirs from the Göteborgs Opera Youth Choir, LM Engströms gymnasium, Alströmergymnasiet, AMB Vara and others from Region Västra Götaland.

The concerts on 11 May will consist of adult choirs with singers from the whole region.

"We want to sing for the audience, to the audience, and with the audience. This incredible music that has captivated us over the past 30 years. Something unique happens when voice and melody unite. With hundreds of voices filling the Opera's auditorium, magic will be created. We want everyone to experience that feeling! It's incredibly fun to be back at the Göteborg Opera and to bring choir singers from the entire region on this musical journey from 1994 up to today."
