Are you curious about exciting stories and “Nordic noir”? For two days we will delve into the plot and music of Carl Maria von Weber’s opera Der Freischütz (first performed in 1821) together with workshop leaders Charlotta Sairio and Annette Marke.
The workshop for you if you like theatre acting, thinking creatively and developing ideas on stage. We will work on script ideas, stage production and performance – without having to be able to sing a note.
During the workshop we will:
- take sneak peek at a rehearsal for Der Freischütz and meet the director Philipp Rosendahl.
- interpret the opera’s plot, music and characters and then create short scenes, to peform and film them.
- talk about how strong emotions affect the choices we make – in opera and in real life – and compare the magic and evil of the opera with our own time and reality.
