In the autumn of 2027, the musical Singin’ in the Rain will finally premiere in Gothenburg! The cast features some of Sweden’s leading musical theatre performers. For actors Vanna Rosenberg, Ewa Roos, and Eric Ericson, these roles mark their debuts on Gothenburg’s largest musical stage. The production will be directed by show-business veteran Edward af Sillén.

The Göteborg Opera’s production will be the largest ever staged in Sweden – featuring a large ensemble, a full orchestra, and plenty of rain. It will be a brand-new production created by Edward af Sillén, who promises a magnificent, vibrant rom-com packed with spectacular dance numbers. Singin’ in the Rain demands exceptional performers who have mastered singing, acting, and dancing (especially tap) at the highest level.
Musical theatre artists Denny Lekström, Emma Kumlien, and Robert Sillberg will perform as Don, Kathy, and Cosmo — the trio at the heart of the story. Vanna Rosenberg, Ewa Roos, and Eric Ericson have been hand-picked for the production’s colorful character roles.

The musical is based on the classic 1952 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film of the same name.
The story is set in Hollywood during the transition from silent films to “talkies”. Don Lockwood (Denny Lekström) and mega-diva Lina Lamont (Vanna Rosenberg) are celebrated silent film stars, and when their upcoming movie is slated to become a talking picture, a major problem arises: Lina’s voice is atrocious.
